Notable radio man Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana who also dabbles in tourism chalked a memorable feat over the weekend when his Kaya Tours facilitated a cruise ship’s docking experience.
Fondly called Abeiku Santana, Kaya Tours took up the responsibility to handle the ground’s operations of cruise shipping line Zaandam Holland America from Miami Florida to Ghana’s Takoradi Port on Dec. 4.
Serving as Travel and Tourism Consultant, passengers onboard the MS Zaandam, one of Holland America Line’s most elegant cruise ships toured parts of the Western and Central regions.

“The thrilling and challenging part of it was the 7 hours time limitation to put all logistics together. From vehicles, drivers, tour guides, visit to Cape Coast & Elimina Castles, visit to Fort Orange, visit to Bosomtwe Sam Fishing Habour, Visit to Bisa Abrewa museum, Market Circle shopping, Visit to the Art Craft market, Food & Beverages at Vienna Beach Resort, Lunch at Oasi Beach Resort, Organizing Brass Band, Masqueraders, Cultural dancers and many more,” Abeiku Santana posted on Facebook.
He appreciated the support and input of various state agencies.

“The cooperation among government stakeholders like the Ghana Tourism Authority, Western Regional Directorate, Ghana Ports & Habour Authority, Ghana Immigration Service, The Western Regional Police MTTU Commander, The Marine Police and even the Fishermen Association at Bosomtwe Sam fishing Habour.”
The MS Zaandam has since left the Ghanaian shore for Ivory Coast, Senegal and Cape Verde in the west coast of Africa.

The cruise ship is touring 24 countries across Africa in 74 days. The vessel has one thousand (1,000) persons onboard; four hundred (400) crew workers and six hundred (600) travellers.
