Blakkpepper understands National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi has married Irene Amankwaa Karikari in a private ceremony today.
The Tse Addo ceremony had in session newly elected chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the defeated chairman as well as John Mahama, the party’s 2022 presidential candidate.
Given the acrimonious exchanges prior to the congress between the two NDC heavyweights, it was a pleasant surprise to see Mr. Nketia, the immediate past general secretary and Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, the former chairman seated to each other.
It’s emerged the 33-year-old father of one had planned to marry last month but had to execute the deed today after the NDC’s National Delegates Congress where he stood for re-election although his contender was disqualified.

It’s unclear if re-elected National Youth Organizer George Opare Addo who berated him for throwing his support behind rival Yaw Brogya Genfi was invited.

Sammy Gyamfi’s Parents
Born to a hotelier and a caterer mum who operated Pinaman’s Kitchen on March 28, 1989, Sammy Gyamfi hails from Wamfie in the Bono region. He was raised in Sunyani and Kumasi. His father ran expensive hotels in Kumasi in the 1990s. His younger brother, Dr. Daniel Gyamfi is a pastor and a professional medical doctor as well as a product of the University of Development Studies’ medical school in 2020.

Sammy Gyamfi’s Education
Sammy Gyamfi started his basic education at Living Waters International School and Glad Tidings International School.

He attended St. James Seminary Secondary School in Sunyani for his Senior High School education. He continued to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the Ashanti Region where he earned his first degree having studied law. He advanced to the Ghana Law School where he took his professional law course getting called to the bar on the Oct. 5, 2018.
