However since injury ruled out these options, Lawrence Elikem Ati-Zigi was the man coach Otto Addo and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) settled on to guard the Stars’ post.

Although Ghana lost to Portugal’s A Seleção by 2-3, Ati-Zigi offered some good interventions opening a window into the goodies he has to give.

And in the Black Stars 3-2 win against South Korea’s Taegeuk Warriors today, many Ghanaian fans are warming up to him, believing in his ability to save the Stars from a pummeling.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi was called into action by forward Gue-sung Cho in the 52nd minute but leapt up to parry away a header however in the 57th minute, substitute Kang-in Lee delivered a cross for Gue-sung to head home.

Gue-sung struck again, scoring a second when he rose above Mensah to power home a header from Jin-su Kim.
