Prince Kofi Amoabeng used his birthday of Feb. 22 to kill two birds in launching the second installment of his UT Story as well as launch the PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation.
The PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation whose mission is to build great business leaders for Africa was launched at the Marriott Hotel, Accra and has Justice Sophia Akuffo as board member and mentor.
“I have known Kofi since the 1980s when we were both in the university. He applies himself to excellence,” her Ladyship noted.
Also at the launch was Sir Sam Jonah, the board chairman and mentor at the foundation.
He noted: “I’ve known him for 50 years for the friendship but also what he stands for (regarding) his leadership qualities and values.”
The launch of UTstory Vol2 which had the theme ‘The Theory of Abundance’ attracted friends of the former army man spanning Sam George and wife, KSM, Edward Effah, Ibrahim Mahama, Tsatsu Tsikata and wife Esther Cobbah.
The First Volume of the UT Story gave insights into foundation and vision of the company.
“The Second Volume goes farther into how we built a WINNING TEAM which expanded the Company beyond borders introducing us to markets in Nigeria and South Africa,” Capt. Prince Kofi Amoabeng (Rtd) wrote on Facebook.
UT’s ambitious expansion drive culminated in establishing branches in nearly all the regions of Ghana. The second volume gives a “step by step education on how we built a business in Africa from a single room to a conglomerate.”
UTstory Vol 1 and 2 can be purchased at all major book shops including, EPP bookshops, Challenge Bookshops, Airport Shell (Kumasi or Accra), Batsona Total as well as online via Booknook.store.
The 71-year-old co-founded UT Bank which ceased to operate in 2017 by order of the central bank during what is termed Ghana’s banking crisis over claims there was misappropriation of funds.
The UT story’s two volumes were co-written by George Bentum Essiaw, a renowned author, screenwriter, and director.
