Ras D, born Dave A. Munroe developed his love of music and songwriting through his relationship with childhood friend Andrew Tosh, son of Peter Tosh of ‘Wailers’ fame.

He’s since soldiered on to become a prolific singer/songwriter with his popular compositions hailed across Jamaica.  A vocalist and musician, Flourgan, sang one of Ras D’s original songs, “Lasco”, which became a TV & Radio commercial in Jamaica.

Ras D has performed his music in venues across Jamaica which led to a tour of the USA along with Andrew Tosh.

The Jamaica national scored big with his debut album “Give Some Love Today” released in September 2004. The album had original reggae compositions with guest performances from Andrew Tosh and Junior Toots, son of Toots Hibbert of ‘Toots and the Maytals’.

Encouraged by the success of his first album, Ras D recorded a sophomore project, titled “Love with Meaning” in 2007, staying true to his roots and keeping  the  message alive with his unique soulful voice.

His third album “Jah Reign,” exhibited his growth as a writer and on the “Reggae International” song he illustrates his commitment to the genre by honouring the forefathers. Also included on this album is “Love You I Do” featuring the debut of Davian Munroe, the first collaboration between Ras D and his oldest son.

Most recent collaborations include working with internationally known producers such Born Free, resulting in the song “Sufferation” which has been in rotation at Jamaica’s #1 Radio station Irie FM, Roots FM, Suncity Radio 104.9 FM as well as Pandora Radio and XM Satellite Radio.
